First time we met

The first time I met Gordon and Bill was at our Aunt Grace and Uncle Frank Tokarz' house somewhere in the late 70's early 80's. I was around 9-10 years old at the time, Gordon 8-9. Our Cousin Francis owned a Harley and it was in the garage... we were told to stay away from it... well enter Bill (lol)... older than the two of us... and he talked us into checking it out otherwise we'd be "chicken"... and eventually got me to sit on it after he did with no problems... well when I did sit on it the bike rolled forward and the kickstand came up... and my feet were not long enough to touch the ground yet without leaning it to the side.. and that was a BIG problem as that bike weighed around 600 pounds lol.. thanks to Gordon and Bill rushing over to help me not dump the bike.. we got out of that one by the skin of our teeth as we'd have been in DEEP trouble if we dumped the bike we were told to not touch. That was the first story of a few when Gordon, I and also Billy would find ourselves raising Cain where we had no business raising it back when we were young and full of life, fearlessness and willing to cross lines we weren't supposed to. It was never any type of nefarious acts just boys being boys... and except for that whole "Dallas Cowboy fan" issue of his Gordon was always a good guy. Not perfect, as none of us are... we all have our regrets but we all tried to learn as we went. In the end the world lost a person with a good heart when it lost Gordon this week. I am sure he is looking down at us all fawning over him right now and he is loving the attention... but I am sure he is also saddened at not being able to be there for his daughter in person as the years pass. Yet, with that said I am sure he will always be there for her (spiritually) just as he was there for me that day when I found myself in a precarious situation back in the early 80's. I was blessed to have known him.
