Obituary for Anna Chesnavich

SEYMOUR, CT: Anna Chesnavich, age 93 of Patton Avenue, she entered into peaceful rest August 18, 2004 at the Riverglen Health Center, Southbury; she was the beloved wife of the late John Chesnavich whom she was wed to on August 31, 1929 in the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, where she has remained a faithful communicant.
Mrs. Chesnavich was born January 23, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Elia and Agripina (Negri) Saranchak. She was a resident of Seymour for most of her life; Anna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
Anna leaves her loving family including, two daughters, Anna Mae Oatley, and her husband Richard of New Preston, and Laura Jaroszewski and her husband Max of Shelton, one sister, Lena Minuto and her husband Nicholas of Seymour, five grandchildren, Janet Smith Van Allen and her husband Wayne of Nicholasville, KY, Brad Oatley and his wife Catherine of Woodbury, Donald W. Smith, Jr., and his wife Lisa of Seymour, Robin Oatley Barron and her husband Greg of Guilford and Gregory Jaroszewski of Shelton, five great grandchildren, Ryan Smith of Seymour, Chase Barron and Wyatt Barron of Guilford, Leah Smith of Seymour, and Tess Oatley of Woodbury, also several nieces and nephews. Her sister Lillian C. Smith predeceased her.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour to Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church for 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia; those bestowed with the honor of bearing her casket are Brad Oatley, Donald W. Smith, Jr., Gregory Jaroszewski, Greg Barron, Ryan Smith, and Chase Barron. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (TODAY) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia, CT 06401.
