Winter Camping

Carl and I both loved winter camping and took a wonderful trip in 1978 to Vermont and New Hampshire. In Carl's silver Trans Am In winter. Clearly not a good snow car we swerved and skidded our way north. We did wack into a snow bank not making a curve, no damage to the car but much laughing and pushing and wheel spinning to extricate the car. We had snow shoes and back packs and snow shoed into a rustic cabin. It was shelter and not much more. With a large fireplace and sitting area, we settled in for a few days. Cutting wood, making freeze dried food we backpacked in. We had a magical few days in deep snow, perfect silence outside, great conversation, a few adult beverages, and a fabulous experience. I will miss Carl but savor the many, many memories, trips and adventures.
