Obituary for David Gracon

ANSONIA, CT: David F. "Coon" Gracon, age 40 of Ford Street, entered into peaceful rest August 29, 2004. He was the beloved husband of Cindy (Scotti) Gracon, and devoted father of Tyler D. Gracon. David was born September 13, 1963 in Derby, cherished son of Elizabeth (Muzin) Musto of Seymour, and the late Frederick Gracon, Jr. He was a lifelong Ansonia resident, and was employed at the M.A.C. Mortgage Company of Waterbury as a Senior Loan Officer. David was communicant of the Church of the Assumption, Ansonia. Mr. Gracon excelled in sports, as a graduate of the Class of 1981 of Ansonia High School , David played baseball and football at A.H.S. He was a Team Captain and was awarded All State in football. Dave earned his Bachelors Degree in 1985 from the University of Connecticut, Storrs where he captained the football team, and earned All American Honors. David volunteered his time by coaching Ansonia Little League, and the Southern Connecticut Youth Hockey League. Dave also continued to devote his energies to the UCONN football team by assisting with the Huddle Club and Alumni booster programs.
Besides his wife, mother, and son, David leaves his loving family including a brother, Frederick A. Gracon and his wife Ava of Coppell, TX, a step-brother, Robert Musto and his wife Judy of Newtown, PA, a step-sister, Deborah Matto and her husband Mark of Oxford, seven nieces and nephews, Steven Storrs of Coppell, TX, Cara and Joseph Dabkowski of Glastonbury, Drew and Olivia Musto of Newtown, PA, and Mark and Marissa Matto of Oxford; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to The Church of the Assumption, Ansonia, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Tyler Gracon Trust Fund, c/o Webster Bank, 200 Division St., Ansonia, CT 06401.
