Obituary for Edith Curtis (Jogun)

SEYMOUR, CT: Edith Curtis age 98 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest at Shady Knoll Health Center surrounded by her family; she was the beloved wife of the late Wilfred H. Curtis. Mrs. Curtis was born November 18, 1909, daughter of the late Rudolph and Amelia (Gudat) Jogun. She was a retired Hairdresser, and she resided in Seymour for more than fifty years. Edith was a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church, Ansonia, and was a member of the St. Anne’s Society there. Mrs. Curtis’ hobbies included painting, sewing, and gardening. Edith was predeceased by her son, John A. Curtis, Sr., and sisters, Emma Jones, and Clara Barbieri. She leaves her loving family including three grandchildren, John A. Curtis, Jr. and his wife Tina of Seymour, Nancy Kazmierski and her husband James of Charlotte, NC, and Suzanne Butkievich and her husband Daniel of Oxford, and five great grandchildren. A Service of Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 am in Christ Episcopal Church, South Cliff Street, Ansonia. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Barrett Room of Christ Episcopal Church also on Thursday prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Building Fund of Christ Church, 56 South Cliff St., Ansonia, CT 06401. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ralph E.
