SEYMOUR, CT: Emily P. Steffero, age 85 of Shelton Road, entered into rest April 19, 2002 at CT Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of 62 years of George J. Steffero.
Mrs. Steffero was born May 26, 1916 in Wilkes Barre, PA, daughter of the late Matthew and Emily Wisgin Pudim. She was a Seymour resident for most of her life, and was a communicant of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oxford. Emily was a retired press operator from the former H.A. Matthies Co. in Seymour, where she worked for 30 years. She was a former employee of the Strand Theater for many years. Mrs. Steffero was an avid reader, and she enjoyed driving.
Besides her husband Emily leaves her loving family including, 1 son Robert Steffero of Atlanta, GA. 1 brother, Raymond Pudim of Seymour, 1 sister Martha L. Bradshaw of Seymour. 2 grandchildren, Robert Steffero, Jr. of Derby, and Donna L. McGivrin of Winder, GA, and 2 great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Her son George J. Steffero, Jr, and 6 brothers, Emil, Gustave, Edward, Richard, Arthur, and Walter Pudim all predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to Immanuel Lutheran Church for a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Cliff Cemetery, Derby.
