Obituary for Evelyn Dorothy Anderson (Sponheimer)

Evelyn  Dorothy  Anderson (Sponheimer)
Mrs. Evelyn D. (Sponheimer) Anderson, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Little River, SC on August 6, 2013. She was born in Seymour, CT on April 19, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Edna Sponheimer and was the beloved wife of the 65 years to the late Harold V. Anderson. She was a longtime resident of Bethany, CT. Evelyn was the librarian of Bethany Community School for over 25 years.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Daleen Anderson (husband Bill) of Little River, SC, her son, Gary Anderson (wife Kathleen) of Bethany, CT, son in law, Paul Holmes of Killington, VT, and her brother, Albert Sponheimer, Jr. of East Ryegate, VT. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Louisa Cox Milligan (husband Patrick) of Hingham, MA, Brett Cox of Traverse City, MI, Kirsten Cox Guiterman (husband Tim) of Shelburne, VT, Erik Holmes (wife Cathy) of Medford, MA and Amie Holmes of South Portland, ME and eight great grandchildren, Aeden and Mia Milligan, Kody and Oliver Guiterman, Madelyn Holmes, Lily and Lucy Johnston and Benjamin Burns. Her daughter, Louise Evelyn Holmes and her sister, Florence Sponheimer predeceased her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment to follow in North West Cemetery, Woodbridge. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a. m. prior to the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Amedysis Hospices of South Carolina, 137 Professional Lane, Unit B, Pawley’s Island, SC 29585 or a charity of your choice.
