SEYMOUR, CT: Harold M. Neumann, Sr., age 85 of Stanley Drive, entered into rest August 12, 2002 at the home of his son Harold, Jr., where he was tended to during his illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Stephanie Tkacz Neumann. Harold was born August 6, 1917 in Oxford, son of the late Mattus and Henrietta Ulrich Neumann. He was a Seymour resident for most of his life. Harold was a retired tool and die maker from the Bridgeport Brass Company, formerly of Seymour, where he was employed for 47 years. Mr. Neumann was a longtime communicant of the Immanual Lutheran Church, Oxford, where he served formerly as sexton, and also served in several capacities there. Harold was a WW II Army Veteran, and was a member of the Emil Senger Post 10 American Legion, Seymour. He was an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed attending local softball events.
He leaves his loving family including, 2 sons Harold M. Neumann, Jr, and his wife Ruth of Oxford, and Dennis Neumann of Allen, TX, 1 daughter Gale Neumann of Middlebury., 1 sister, Evelyn Griswold, and her husband Bob, of Seymour. 1 brother, Arthur Neumann, and his wife Jenny of Beacon Falls. Also 6 grandsons. His son Gary Neumann, and his sister Harriett Sherwinsky predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to the Immanuel Lutheran Church for 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery.
