Life Story for Harold L. Tilquist

Harold L.  Tilquist
OXFORD, CT: Harold L. Tilquist, age 85 a lifelong resident of Oxford entered into peaceful rest March 31, 2010 at Hewitt Memorial Hospital, Shelton. Mr. Tilquist was born March 7, 1925 in Oxford, son of the late Harold J. and Annie (Selmquist) Tilquist. He was a retired carpenter from Fusco Corp., Branford. He was a member of the Oxford United Church of Christ Congregational. Harold was WW II US Army veteran and served in the European Theater of Operations. He was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174, American Legion, Oxford. Mr. Tilquist was former volunteer firefighter and Past Captain of the Quaker Farms Fire House. Harold will be fondly remembered for his love of tractors and heavy equipment, and could be frequently found working his land.

Harold leaves his loving family including his daughter, Dixie Peters and her husband Gene of Oxford, two sons, John H. Tilquist of Mendon, VT, and Ralph D. Tilquist of Oxford, 5 grandchildren, Brian Peters, Kimberly Ellis, John S. Tilquist, Wes Tilquist, and Samantha Tilquist, 2 great grandchildren, Briley Peters, and John A. Tilquist; also his good friends, Chuck Fisher, Dave DeAngelis, Luke and Eddie Cole all of Oxford.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Brookside Cemetery.
