Obituary for Hazel Marie Happy (Schiavi)

Hazel Marie  Happy (Schiavi)
SEYMOUR, CT: Hazel Marie Happy, age 77 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest March 23, 2011 at her home with her devoted family by her side; she was the beloved wife of Joseph Happy. Mrs. Happy was born May 24, 1933, daughter of the late Fred, Sr., and Anna (Federowicz) Schiavi. Hazel was from the former Seymour Trust Co. as a Manager of the Bookkeeping Department, and was also Secretary of Happy Brothers Construction. She resided in Oxford until 1953 before moving to Seymour. Mrs. Happy was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd; she loved to cook, she enjoyed knitting and trips to the casinos, but she will be remembered most for her love of family.

In addition to her husband Hazel leaves her loving family including two sons, Joseph Happy and his wife Patricia, and Michael Happy and is wife Lisa, all of Seymour, two daughters, Pamela Gagliardi and her husband John of Seymour, and Holly Wible and her husband Scott of Scottsdale, AZ, 3 brothers, Fred Schiavi of Oxford, Donald Schiavi of Seymour, and Henry Federowicz of Seymour, nine grandchildren, Joseph, Jennifer Rich, Megan, Brandi, Mike, Ethan, Cody, Melyssa and Cayden, two great grandchildren, Joseph and Pepper, and several nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will be private in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour.
