Condolence: "ONE DAY AT A TIME" was all your Mom had when I visited her and all of you at Griffin Hospital last Thursday. It was such a joy to hear you share such wonderful memories, especially about "Grandma with the Mohawk." I am privileged to have shared those precious moments. I know my Mom, Frances, was there on the reception line to welcome her into heaven. Know that my deepest sympathy and prayers are with you all. God bless you. May Helen rest in peace, and may you have peace in your hearts.

Condolence: To my cousins Tammy,Bonnie,Beaver and Chris, and their families,
I'm so sorry you lost your Mom and for what you are and will be going through. Just losing my Mom almost three months ago it is still raw, but you can only take one day at a time. Let yourself grieve, but cherish the good times and laughter you've shared. Find peace in knowing she's joining the family card game!!
A few memories of Aunt Helen: Being at her house for the weekly card game and hearing the adults announce among themselves that they'll eat after the next hand.We would wait for them to put out the lunchmeat and rolls and would sneak out to steal a few pieces of meat. She always caught us red handed, told us to "put it back, the adults eat first so they can get back to the cards!!" We knew we'd get caught and still we tried!

I remember during one card game Aunt Helen instructed Tammy to keep us occupied. Tammy lit a candle and pretended to know when the spirits arrived. We were so fascinated we kept our eyes on the candle, knowing something would happen. After occupying us for quite awhile Tammy announced it was a hoax and just kept us occupied for her mother! Then Tammy went up to her room.

One more: When we were younger, even though we had lots of cousins, the adults would still buy for each others kids on Christmas.I remember one year Aunt Helen gave my sister and I a popcorn stitch type sleeveless vest that was the new, longer style with a belt. It was my favorite gift and the color was so cheese doodley orange, it was great! I remember it so well because that Christmas we learned that it would be the last one that all the exchanging would go on as there were too many cousins for everyone to buy for. I was sad and disappointed because I loved her gifts, especially the cheese doodley one! Hope this made you smile a little!

You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Love,
Cousin Lori H.

Condolence: To each of Helen's family members, I want to express my sorrow over your mom's passing. Your mom was a member of my high school class and thankfully, was able to attend our 50'th reunion in 2003. She will be missed by all of us this year and remembered at our upcoming 55th reunion (Sept). We have many happy memories of years gone by. I can feel what each of you are going through right now, having lost a sister 2 yrs ago and my husband in Oct. Just know that while we (you) miss her presence here, on earth, she is in a happier place and free of struggling. Know that God loves each of you and will help you through this time of reflection and sorrow.
