Howard E.   Simpson, Jr.
Howard Eugene Simpson, Jr.,age 71, beloved husband of 51 years to Judith (DuPaul) Simpson of Seymour entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 29, 1942 in Derby and was the son of the late Howard Eugene Simpson, Sr. and Doris (McCormack) Simpson. Mr. Simpson worked as a security officer at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for 24 years before his retirement. Mr. Simpson was very active in the Seymour community serving on the Seymour Democratic Town Committee and Board of Police Commissioners, 4 years as Chairman and several other boards. He was a member of the Aurora Council, Third Degree and he was a Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was involved in the Ancient Order of Hiberians, the Alter Guild Church of the Assumption, served as a Eucharist Minister and generously volunteered his time to coaching youth baseball in the George J. Hummel Little League. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children Debra Schwartz (Jay) of North Haven, Howard E. Simpson (Joanne) of Redding and James E. Simpson of Seymour; his grandchildren were the joys of his life, Shannon Hirth (Justin), Rebecca and James Schwartz, Jr., Gabrielle and James Simpson, Jr. and Emma and Ella Simpson; and a great grandson, Cameron Hirth. His daughter, Denise L. Simpson predeceased him. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 1 at 10:15 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church Street, Seymour, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Ansonia. Interment will be held in private. Family and friends may call on Friday, Feb. 28 from 4 -8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia, CT 06401.
