OXFORD, CT: Irene M. Patrick, age 65 of Quaker Farms Road, entered into peaceful rest June 28, 2005 at her home with her devoted family by her side; she was the beloved wife of Ronald G. Patrick. Mrs. Patrick was born April 28, 1940 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Kravec) Dirga. Irene was an Oxford resident for the past thirty five years, and was a Registered Nurse where she was a former supervisor at Birmingham Health, Derby Nursing Center for many years. Irene graduated from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, she had a love of music, reading, and the theater; she enjoyed her trips to New York City, and also traveling to Lake Tahoe. Irene’s most special love was held for her four grandchildren, Joseph, III and Michael Kmetz of Beacon Falls, and Thomas, III and Lauren Mattutini of Oxford.
Besides her husband and grandchildren Irene leaves her loving family including two daughters, Laura Kmetz and her husband Joseph, Jr. of Beacon falls, and Christine Mattutini and her husband Thomas, Jr. of Oxford, and three brothers, George Dirga of Stratford, Andrew Dirga of Astoria, NY, and Peter Dirga of Milford.
A memorial service in celebration of Irene’s life will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.
