Obituary for James J. Whiteley, Sr.

SEYMOUR, CT: James J. Whiteley, 68 of Rocky Glen, entered into peaceful rest September 1, 2003 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Bagley) Whiteley. He was born September 3, 1934 in Ansonia, son of the late Earl Russell and Mary (Parker) Whiteley.
Mr. Whiteley was the owner of Whiteley Trucking of Naugatuck, and he had worked in the trucking industry for forty years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. James was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he was a former member and Past President of the Men’s Club, and also an organizer for their former carnival and Casino Nights; he also served on the Parish Council of the church. He previously served on the Seymour Board of Finance, and he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean war.
Besides his wife, James leaves his loving family including two sons, James Whiteley, Jr. And his wife Linda of Shelton, and Patrick Whiteley of Ansonia, two daughters, Linda Foster and her husband David of Seymour, and Wendy Judd and her husband Richard of Brewster, MA, a sister Eleanor Tuttle of Seymour, and six grandchildren. His son Richard predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to the Church of the Good Shepherd where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
