OXFORD: Mrs. Jeanne Marie (Mumper) Karlac, age 83, beloved wife of the late Walter Karlac passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 2, 1927 in Hershey, PA to the late John and Mae (Heck) Mumper. Mrs. Karlac was a telephone operator for Ma Bell and a telephone receptionist at Hull Dye and her greatest joy was being a mother. She was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 in Oxford and a past Women’s Auxiliary Commander. Mrs. Karlac enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, poster art, traveling and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by four children, Pamela J. Underwood of Palm Bay, FL, Robert G. Karlac of Bonners Ferry, ID, Thomas G. Karlac of Seymour and Jean Marie Wilkins of 0xford. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her three brothers and one sister predeceased her. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment to follow in Great Hill Cemetery, Oxford. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Karlac’s memory to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
