Obituary for John Louis Radovich Sr.

John Louis  Radovich Sr.
Mr. John Radovich, Sr., age 95, beloved husband of Evelyn (Cox) Radovich of Seymour, passed away quietly at Glendale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Naugatuck. He was born on September 14, 1916 in Flagstaff, Arizona and grew up in Fresno, California. After serving with the Army Air Corps during WWII, he married Evelyn Cox and moved to Seymour where he worked as a carpenter and contractor. He was very active in the community serving on several municipal boards and was a second selectman for the town of Seymour. He gave golf and tennis lessons through the Seymour summer recreation programs. John was a volunteer with the Great Hill Fire Department. Through his 90’s he volunteered as a greeter-Ambassador at the Griffin Hospital. John was an active member of the Seymour and Great Hill United Methodist churches, teaching Sunday school and serving on several committees and boards.

In addition to his devoted wife of 67 years, he leaves a brother, Daniel and his wife, Jenny of Fresno, CA, five sons, John Jr. and his wife Diane of Mystic, David and his wife Cynthia of Carmel, NY, Raymond and his wife MaryLou of Branford, Robert and his wife, Carol of Southbury and David Lynes and his wife, Barbara of Seymour, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. at the Great Hill United Methodist Church, Seymour. Interment with Military Honors will be at Great Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Great Hill United Methodist Church, 225 Great Hill Road, Seymour, CT 06483. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Ralph E.
