Mr. Lawrence J. Dubey, Sr. age 97, beloved husband of 67 years to Lena (Visselli) Dubey of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the VA Medical Center, West Haven.

He was born on June 28, 1913 in Maine to the late Paul and Mary (Oates) Dubey. Mr. Dubey was a U.S. Army veteran and served during WWII. He was a painter for Sabo’s Auto Body and then retired from Sikorsky Aircraft. Mr. Dubey was a member of the American Legion, Post #10, VFW and DAV and the former Visselli Post in Ansonia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loveable person that enjoyed life. He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid NY Yankees fan.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves 6 devoted children, Linda Potucek and her husband Marty of FL, Gloria Benway and her husband Stanley of Seymour, Rita Scermino and her companion Robert Magda of Seymour, Ann Marie Renaldi and her husband Frank of Seymour, Lawrence J. Dubey, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Shelton and Robert Dubey of Derby, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Fourteen brothers and sisters predeceased him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Interment with full Military Honors in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Family and Friends may call on Monday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Dubey’s memory to the VA Medical Center, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516.
