Obituary for Lucy Morgatto

OXFORD, CT: Lucy Morgatto, age 79 of Oxford Road, entered into peaceful rest December 10, 2003 at the Hewitt Memorial Hospital, Shelton; she was the beloved wife of Charles A. Morgatto. Mrs. Morgatto was born July 25, 1924 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Ermete and Aldovinia Castoni. Lucy was an Oxford resident for forty seven years, and was the owner of the Brookside Inn Restaurant, Oxford. She was a communicant and member of the Ladies Aide of St. Thomas the Apostle Church; a member of the Oxford Center Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Brookside Inn Ladies Golf League.
Besides her husband Mrs. Morgatto leaves her loving family including a son Gary Morgatto and his wife Sara of Seymour, a sister Edith Galli of Waterbury, two grandchildren, Christen Morgatto of Seymour, and Justin Morgatto of Beacon Falls, also several nieces and nephews. Her son Thomas Morgatto, sister Mary Perugini, and brothers, Orfeo, Edmundo, and Fredo Cannuzzi predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford. Interment will be in Northwest Cemetery, Woodbridge. Family and friends may call at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 west Church Street, Seymour on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to the Salvation Army, 26 Lester St., Ansonia, CT 06401, The Seymour-Oxford Food Bank, 91 Church St., Seymour, CT 06483, or to Spooner House, 119 Caroline St., Derby, CT 06418.
