Margaret ""Peggy"" Hicks
BETHANY, CT: Margaret Mary "Peggy" Hicks, age 83 of Northrop Road, entered into peaceful rest July 8, 2004 at her home; she was the beloved wife of the late Clyde J. Hicks. Mrs. Hicks was born September 4, 1920 in New Haven, daughter of the late Victor E. and Eva (Cox) Lipka. Peggy was a retired matron from the Amity Junior High School where she was employed for twenty years, retiring in 1985. A resident of Bethany since 1942; Mrs. Hicks was also a communicant of the First Church of Christ Congregational, Bethany where she taught religious education for nineteen years. She was a member of the Hamden Grange, and she enjoyed camping and travel.
Peggy leaves her loving family including three sons, John J. Hicks of Franklinton, NC, Thomas R. Hicks of Bethany, and Victor E. Hicks of Seymour, three daughters, Patricia Bradley of Hamden, Deborah Pechalonis of West Haven, and Cheryl Messier of Seymour, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:00 Noon in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home also on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Fund, Amity Road, Bethany, CT 06524.
