Obituary for Margaret Jane McCulloch (Leonard)

Margaret Jane  McCulloch (Leonard)
McCulloch, Margaret Jane Leonard, known as Peg, age 99, entered into eternal rest in the presence of her two daughters on Monday, November 29, 2010 in the Bishop Wicke Health Center United Methodist Homes in Shelton. She was born in Cedarhurst, Long Island, New York, and lived most of her life in Fairfield.

Peg was predeceased by her husband, Herbert McCulloch. She had three children, Peggy Ann Rose (Donald Rose)Monroe, CT, Rev. Robert J. McCulloch (Barbara McCulloch) Ohio and Rev. Jane McCulloch Sibley (Bob Sibley) Easton, CT. Peg was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who lived showing love to her family and friends. She discovered her gift of painting in her sixties and has one of her pictures hanging in the lobby of Crosby Commons Assisted Living facility.

Peggy was blessed with nine grandchildren; Judy-Beth Raine (Randy) Shelton, David Lizak (Jackie) Oxford, Christine Grandfield (Malcolm) North Carolina, Kirsten Bradfish (Dennis) Ohio, Healther Vizer (Dave),Ohio and RJ McCulloch of Vancouver, Canada Rob Sibley (Barbara) Newtown, William M. Sibley (Michele) Ridgefield, and Peter K. Sibley (Anne) Wyoming. In addition to her grandchildren, Peg was blessed with fifteen great grandchildren who were the light of her life.


A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Great Hill United Methodist Church, Seymour. The officiate will be Rev. Jim Stinson, Director of Spiritual Life of the United Methodist Homes and Rev. Iwy Yatri of the Nichols United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in private at the convenience of the family in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 W. Church Street, Seymour.
