Obituary for Mildred C. Haines

SEYMOUR, CT: Mildred C. Haines age 88 of West Church Street, beloved wife of the late J. Russell Haines; entered into peaceful rest December 8, 2003 at her home with her devoted family by her side. Mildred was born January 20, 1915 in New Haven, daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Smith) Cooper. She was a lifelong Seymour resident, and was a member of the Seymour Congregational Church where she formerly ran the nursery for many years. Mildred was a graduate of Seymour High School, Class of 1932; she volunteered for many years in the Pediatric Ward at Griffin Hospital.
Mildred leaves her loving family including, a son Frank Haines and his wife Carol of Seymour, a daughter, Marian Schmitz and her husband Thomas of Shelton, three special nieces that Mildred had raised after the passing of her sister Helen Knapp, Ruth Hook, Lois Akley, and Mabel Kezelevich all of Seymour, and also eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Spring interment will be in Trinity Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Scholarship Fund of the Seymour Congregational Church, 15 Broad St., Seymour, CT 06483.
