SEYMOUR, CT: Nena Kordick Stremmenos, 65 of Mountain Road, entered into peaceful rest January 14, 2003 following a long illness at her home with her devoted family by her side; she was the beloved wife of Christos Stremmenos, and the late Harry M. Kordick. Mrs. Stremmenos was born January 3, 1938 in Seymour, daughter of the late Herbert and Lena (Chubat) Girmes. Nena was a Seymour High School graduate, Class of 1956. She was a lifelong Seymour resident.
Besides her husband Nena leaves her loving family including 3 daughters, Dorsey Kordick of Reidsville, NC, Melanie Kordick of Chappell Creek, SC, and Christina Stremmenos of Brookline, MA 2 sisters, Karen Salva of Bethany, and Cheryl Johnson of Oxford. 2 step-sisters, Lois Siwanowicz of Sun City, CA, and Marion Dziadik of Jacksonville, FL. She also leaves her "one and only" granddaughter, Brittany Kordick of Reidsville, NC Nena was predeceased by her son Christopher Todd Kordick.
A funeral liturgy will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will be in Three Saints Cemetery, Seymour.
