Olga Mitchell
SEYMOUR, CT: Olga Mitchell, age 76 of Bank Street, entered into peaceful rest October 23, 2003 at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven; she was the beloved wife of fifty six years of Russell Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell was born June 11, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Czyz) Michalski. She was a retired waitress from the former Garden Gate Restaurant in Seymour, and she also was formerly employed by Uniroyal Corp., and also Risdon Manufacturing. Olga was a communicant of St. Augustine Church; she enjoyed watching her granddaughter play softball and basketball, and was an avid fan of the UCONN Women’s Basketball Team. She grew up in New York City, before moving here in 1942.
Besides her husband Olga leaves her loving family including, two sons, Russell Mitchell and his wife Jean of Spartenburg, S.C., and Rick Mitchell and his wife Cheryl of Seymour, two sisters, Celia Sledz of Punta Gorda, FL, and Irene DeGeorge of Seymour, three grandchildren, Robert Mitchell in Colorado, and James Mitchell of Spartenburg, SC, and Kelly Mitchell of Seymour, also three great grandchildren, Lauren and Nathan Mitchell in Colorado, and Bryson Mitchell of Spartenburg, SC.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Avenue, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Augustine Church.
