Obituary for Priscilla Cherhoniak (Tarasuk)

Priscilla  Cherhoniak (Tarasuk)
Seymour: In Derby, December 1, 2010, Priscilla (Tarasuk) Cherhoniak, 84, of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest surrounded by her loving family. Priscilla was the beloved wife of the late Charles S. Cherhoniak, Sr. Born in Bridgeport April 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Elarion and Mary (Bruzenak) Tarasuk. Priscilla is survived by her two brothers Harry and Paul Tarasuk, and a sisters-in-law, Marie Tarasuk and Marie Cherhoniak. She was predeceased by her loving siblings, Anne Tkachs, Mary Lescheshen and her brother Al Tarasuk. Priscilla dedicated much of her life to being an honorable, loving mother to her four children, Kathleen Collins and husband, Jerry of Ansonia , David Cherhoniak of East Haven,, Charles Cherhoniak, Jr. and wife, Carol of Shelburne VT, Priscilla (Pippi) Rogow and husband, Richard of Enosburg ,Vt. She was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren; Tamara Powell and husband, Chris and two children, Katheryn & Robin, Hailey Chamberlain and husband, Jesse, Christopher Collins, Justin Patras, Michael, Scott and Brian Cherhoniak and Joshua Samuel Rogow who passed on before his beloved grandmother. She was blessed as a great grandmother of Chole Grace Chamberlain and Chloe's expectant sister of Huntington, MA. She was a loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. She loved many friends and was blessed to have close relationships with George and Charlotte Saportin, and Ann Pavlik and family. During the 1940's, Priscilla was employed at Chance Voight Aircraft Inc. where she met her future, loving husband. While raising her children, she worked part time at Farrel Corp. with Pete's Canteen. She later worked as a secretary for the Seymour Congregational Church. Priscilla was a communicant of the Three Saints Orthodox Church in Ansonia and dedicated much energy and time as the church treasurer. She was also a passionate member of the church choir. Priscilla loved singing, swimming, travelling, shopping, playing cards, and enjoyed the occasional casino excursion. She loved her family as they loved her with all their hearts. Priscilla was known for her untiring spirit and had self admittedly completed her "bucket list". She left this earth voicing no regrets, having led a fulfilled life. Her family and friends will miss her deeply and always remember her impact on their lives.

Calling Hours Friday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Funeral Service Saturday 9:30 a.m. at Three Saints Orthodox Church (Directly), 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
