Obituary for Raymond C. Smith

BEACON FALLS, CT: Raymond C. Smith, age 60 of Briarwood Drive entered into peaceful rest November 30, 2003 at his home with his devoted family by his side; he was the beloved husband of Constance (Keeton) Smith. Mr. Smith was born November 16, 1943 in Bridgeport, beloved son of Armida (Cassesse) Smith of Bridgeport, and the late Ralph Smith. He was a Beacon Falls resident for the past twenty seven years, and was a communicant of the United Church of Christ, Congregational, Beacon Falls. Raymond was a retired director with the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation where he was employed for thirty seven years, retiring in 1998. He was active in the Beacon Falls Little League, where he also formerly served as Treasurer. Raymond enjoyed boating, and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Besides his wife and mother, Raymond leaves his loving family including two sons, Jason Smith of Oxford, and Keith Smith and his wife Megan of Hopedale, MA, two brothers, Ralph Smith and his wife Patricia of Shelton, and Robert Smith of Cheshire, sister-in-law Barbara Tomek and her husband Joseph of Stratford, brother- in-law, Leslie Keeton and his wife Mary of Swanzey, NH; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00a.m.in the United Church of Christ, 69 Wolfe Avenue, Beacon Falls. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Family and friends may call at the Ralph E.
