Obituary for Roger T. Perkins

ANSONIA, CT: Roger Turner Perkins, age 73 of Beverly Drive entered into peaceful rest October 15, 2004 at the Yale New Haven Hospital; he was the beloved husband of the late Elsanne (Hubbell) Perkins. Mr. Perkins was born March 25, 1931 in Boston, MA, son of the late Francis Maurice, and Beatrice Eleanor (Turner) Perkins. He resided in Ansonia since 1959, and was a retired Technical Writer from Sikorsky Aircraft, and was a communicant of the Seymour United Church of Christ, Congregational. Roger served in the US Army, and was a peacetime Veteran. After his retirement Roger was very active with his love of hockey; he was the morning manager of the Milford Ice Pavilion, he was the Assistant Hockey Coach at Notre Dame High School of, Fairfield; he also coached for many other area high school hockey teams. Mr. Perkins was a volunteer firefighter with Eagle Hose Hook and Ladder No.6 of Ansonia, and he was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Kents Hill School, Kents Hill, ME; he was also fond of his leisure time spent on the beach.
Mr. Perkins leaves his loving family especially his four beloved daughters, Susan Wilber of Hamden, Nancy Haynes of Windsor Locks, Kimberly Sherwood and her husband William of Naugatuck, and Kathryn Romero and her husband Marc of Pine, CO, a sister, Cynthia Clark of Putnum, and his cherished grandchildren, Timothy, Lindsey, and Sarah Wilber, Meghan and Mark Kichar, Melissa and Matthew Sherwood, and Jacob and Julia Romero.
A memorial service in celebration of Roger’s life will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Seymour United Church of Christ, Congregational, 15 Broad Street, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
