SEYMOUR, CT: Ruth Eleanor Baldwin, age 86 a lifelong Seymour resident entered into peaceful rest December 24, 2011 at her home; she was the devoted wife of 56 years to the late Arthur W. Baldwin. Mrs. Baldwin was born August 17, 1925 in Derby, daughter of the late Frederick A., and Elizabeth T. (Shea) Hager. Ruth was a communicant of St. Augustine Church, and she formerly was employed at Farrel Corp., Ansonia. Ruth's passion was her love of her family; it was particularly meaningful that she passed on Christmas Eve in the very home she was raised in surrounded by her devoted family. She regularly communicated with the younger generations of her family via the internet and Facebook and was able to keep a genuine loving presence in their lives. Ruth was also an avid reader.
Mrs. Baldwin leaves her loving family including 2 sons, James Baldwin and his wife Patrice, and Richard Baldwin, and her daughter Karen Wasilewski and her husband Jim all of Seymour; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, and Daniel Wasilewski, and Nichole, Kara, and Emily Baldwin, also many nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Grace Wetmore, Elizabeth Magner, and Cecelia Happy predeceased her.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Family and friends are invited also in Wednesday prior to the services from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour.
