NORTH CANAAN, CT: Ruth Clare MacCallum, age 99 of North Canaan, entered peaceful rest September 27, 2013 in Canaan; she was the beloved wife of the late George MacCallum. Ruth was born January 14, 1914, daughter of the late Louis and Jessica (Botsford) Harris. Ruth was a retired Bookkeeper from Murburg Recking Co., New Haven. She loved collecting post cards, and operated a Post Card Museum in North Canaan; she also formerly owned the Lenox Gift Shop in East Haven. Ruth enjoyed travel, she also crocheted hats for premature babies and donated them to local hospitals.

Mrs. MacCallum leaves her loving family including her daughter Elizabeth Lindholm of Oxford, grandchildren, Linda, Mary-Ellen, Nancy, Diane, and Mark, and great grandchildren, Gregory, Joseph, Nicholas, Emily, Ashley, and Lucas. Her son, David H. Lefler, daughter, Pamela Lefler, and grandson, David Lefler predeceased her.

Funeral services are private. There are no calling hours. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Great Hill Cemetery, Seymour. Memorial Gifts may be sent to Horizon Wings, P.O.
