SEYMOUR, Crisanti, Salvatora “Concetta” Filippone, age 86 of Seymour, entered into eternal rest, Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to Pietro Crisanti. Born in Collesano, Sicily, Italy on March 22, 1924 to the late Agostino and Carmela Borgesano Filippone. She has been a resident of Seymour since 1963 and was formerly of Ansonia. Salvatora “Concetta” was once employed by Teledyne and the Cook Company’s of Ansonia and was also a homemaker to her family. She was a Communicant of the St. Augustine’s Church in Seymour, and a previous member of the Holy Rosary Church, Ansonia, where she belonged to the Madonna Dei Miracoli. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. The highlight of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Basilla Stevens, and her husband Robert, and Carmela Burns, and her husband Ken all of Seymour, five grandchildren, Kathleen, Mallory, and Sarah Stevens, Bobby and Michael Burns all of Seymour. She is also survived by two sisters in law, Providenza Filippone and Concetta Filippone of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Luciano and Domenico Filippone and three sisters, Providenza DiPascquale, Rosa Borgesano and Francesca LoVarco.

The family would like to thank the compassionate care she received from the nurses at Griffin Hospital, especially the care given by Emily Antezzo.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 10 at 9:45 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, 35 Washington Avenue, Seymour. Interment to follow in St. Augustine’s Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
