Stanley Poniatowski, age 86, of Seymour , CT , passed away peacefully at home with his family on Friday, September 12, 2008, following a year-long illness. Born in Bridgeport on May 8, 1922, he was the 4th of 6 children of the late Marcin and Victoria (Romarzewska) Poniatowski. He lived most of his life in Stratford before retiring to Seymour in 1988. He married Regina Palangiewicz in 1954, and together they raised 5 children. A devoted family-man, he was a retired firefighter who had served the Town of Stratford for 36 years, and a veteran who had served in the Army’s Pacific Campaign in WWII. In addition to his wife, Regina, he is survived by a daughter, Mary, with husband Donald Ackley and daughter Melissa of Cardiff, CA; a son, Stanley, with wife Debbie and children Jessica and Shaun of Glendale, AZ; a daughter, Teresa Kregling, with husband Karl and daughters Stephanie, Jaclyn and Alissa of Seymour; a son, Richard, with wife Michele and sons Michael and Benjamin of Beacon Falls; a daughter, Helen Kochiss, with husband Joseph and children Jonathan, Jason and Ashley of Woodbury; a sister, Josephine Pytko of Stratford, and another sister, Dorothy Piecka of Fort Pierce, FL. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Frank and Felix, both of Stratford , and a sister, Genevieve Lucas, of Easton . A Holy Christian Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Sep. 20, 10 am, at the HRC Church of St. Augustine, 35 Washington Ave. , Seymour . Calling hours are Friday, Sep. 19, from 5 to 8 pm at Ralph E.
