Obituary for Stella A. Cusano Alicandro (Amico)

Stella A.  Cusano Alicandro (Amico)
Mrs. Stella A. (Amico) Cusano Alicandro, age 90, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late John Alicandro, Sr. entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at Bishop Wicke in Shelton.

She was born on May 30, 1923 in Seymour and was the daughter of the late Alphonso and Lorenza (Brucaleri) Amico. Stella was a longtime Seymour resident and in later years resided with her daughter. Her greatest joy was cooking for her family. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and UConn Huskies Girls Basketball fan where she coached the girls from her recliner during every game. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and playing poker with family and friends.

Stella is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Ragozzine and her husband John of Seymour, daughter in law, Betty Ann Cusano of Southbury, grandchildren, Darcey Alsdorf, Jesse Cusano, Jody Heffernan, John Ragozzine and Daniel Cusano, great grandchildren, Haley, Nathan, Carolyn, Emma, Tyler, Mason, Paige, Stella and Hazel. She also leaves her brothers, Frederick Amico of Springfield, VA and Al Amico of NY, her sisters, Antoinette “Toni” Wilber and Florence Cormack both of Seymour and several nieces and nephews. Her sons, Daniel C. Cusano and Anthony “Corky” Cusano, brothers, Thomas, Jack and Mario Amico and sister, Grace Conklin predeceased her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11:15 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Augustine’s Church, Seymour. Interment to follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be make in her memory to Camp Rising Sun, P.O. Box 472, Branford, CT 06405.
