SEYMOUR, CT: Stephen R. Tracy, age 61 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest October 16, 2008 at his home with his devoted family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Stockmal) Tracy. Mr. Tracy was born December 6, 1946 in Waterbury, son of the late Frank and Frances (Welton) Tracy. Stephen was employed as a Custodian for the Shelton School System, and was a Communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Mr. Tracy attended Western Kentucky University. He resided in Derby before moving to Seymour twenty three years ago. Mr. Tracy was an avid golfer and was a member of Watertown Country Club. He was a volunteer coach for the Shelton High School Golf Team, and was a former assistant coach for Seymour High School’s baseball and football teams. Stephen formerly played softball for the Kasden Fuel Team, was a member of the Norwoods Athletic Club, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
In addition to his wife Rita, Stephen leaves his loving family including two sons, Jason Tracy and his wife Elisa of Cheshire, and Eric Tracy and his wife Jessica of Middlebury, a sister, Sharon Sonsini and her husband David of Derby, two grandchildren, Ethan and Nora Tracy of Middlebury, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 am in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in MT ST Peter Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Sunday at the Ralph E.
