Obituary for Theodore Paul Pietralczyk

Theodore Paul  Pietralczyk
Mr. Theodore Paul Pietralczyk, age 87, beloved husband of Lois Mae (Torwich) Pietralczyk, of Seymour passed away peacefully in his sleep with his loving family by his side on November 28, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He was born on August 25, 1924 in Scranton, PA and was the son of the late Leo and Esther (Rusnak) Pietralczyk. Mr. Pietralczyk was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of WWII and fought in Iwo Jima and Guam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a longtime resident of Seymour. He was a metal sheet roller at New Haven Copper Co. in Seymour for many years before his early retirement. He continued his work as a custodian in a local church and later helped as a handyman, doing odd jobs until his recent illness. He was an active member of the Russian American Club in Seymour. He will be remembered as a very generous and loving man and was never short on opinions. He was an avid sports fan, who attended all the local Seymour sports events and an avid UConn fan. He also enjoyed watching Pro and College games on TV and was a longtime fisherman and also enjoyed bowling and golfing in earlier years, winning many trophies in both sports. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Mr. Pietralczyk is survived by his daughters, Wendy Queen of Wolcott and Donna Lesniak of Meriden, two granddaughters, Melissa Queen of Meriden and Kelcie Queen of Wolcott, a sister, Dorothy Lowry of Scranton, PA and Paul Pietralczyk and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Leo Pietralczyk predeceased him. Family and friends may call on Saturday, December 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Services and interment will be held in private. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd. Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
