Obituary for Thomas Jeffreys

BEACON FALLS, CT: Thomas Jeffreys, age 73 of New Street, entered into rest September 7, 2002 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby with his devoted family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lois E. Hollister Jeffreys. Mr. Jeffreys was born May 25, 1929 in Scranton, PA, son of the late John and Myrtle Atkinson Jeffreys. He was a retired machinist from Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford where he was employed for 37 years, retiring in 1992. Thomas was a resident of Devon before moving to Beacon Falls in 1959. Mr. Jeffreys was a Korean War, U.S. Army Veteran. He was a communicant of the United Church, Beacon Falls, and was a former coach for Beacon Falls Little League, and also Babe Ruth Baseball teams. Thomas was an avid baseball enthusiast, and a fan of the New York Mets.
Besides his wife he leaves 4 sons, Thomas J. Jeffreys of Waterbury, Todd M. Jeffreys of Stratford, Tracy E. Jeffreys of Milford, and Dale C. Jeffreys of Beacon Falls. 1 daughter Darlene S. Ridolfi of Beacon Falls. 1 brother, Phillip Jeffreys of Lake Ariel, PA; 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, and 1 great grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to the American Diabetes Assoc. 300 Research Pky., Meriden, CT 06450, or to the American Heart Assn., 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
