I had the pleasure of knowing Verne her later years in life. Even in her eighties she has been an inspiration to me. Her kindness, concern for others and joy for life was amazing. She was always finding ways to give to others and brighten someone's day. Her enthusiasm and joy from daily activities was contagious. When describing music she had heard or a delicious meal she had eaten, she would speak with such passion and joy she made me appreciate the small things. I will truly miss this kind and gentle soul with the flower in her hair.
