Obituary for William Robert "Bob" Hathaway

William Robert “Bob” Hathaway, age 86, of Seymour, beloved husband of Lorraine (Weiden) Hathaway, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in St. Mary’s Hospital. Born in New Haven on February 25, 1929, he was a son of the late William Russell and Elizabeth (Prebilla) Hathaway. A retired electrical machine maintenance technician for Sikorsky with over 40 years of service, Bob was also an Air Force photography technician in Germany during the Korean War. Mr. Hathaway was an Eagle Scout for Troop 16 (West Haven) who loved boating, fishing and technology, especially involving photography and video. He was the owner of Hathaway Photography Studios in Seymour, and during his later years, traveled extensively while being a member of the Derby and Shelton Senior Centers. In addition to his wife of 57 years, survivors include his son, Gary Hathaway and his wife Mary of Oakville; daughters, Deborah Baxter of Seymour, and Cheryl Goggins and her husband David of Ansonia; 6 cherished grandchildren, Hayley Ann, Amanda, Joshua, Brian, Sean and Jessica; and a sister, Edna Grant of FL. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, at 10:00 am in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483, and a committal service with full military honors following in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bob’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation (http://www.parkinsons.org).
