I was sorry to read of the passing of Anita. We lived directly across the street from her on Highland Drive in North Haven. I visited her in Bethany a few times, but we lost contact when I went back to work when my child started school.
The clearest memory of her was during my pregnacy with my son in 1973. I had been to the doctor, who told me that if I didn't go into labor, she would induce me. What she didn't tell me, was that I had toxemia. Anita realized this, but of course didn't scare me. My mother lived at the bottom of the hill, on Barton Drive. For the few days before I did go into labor, Anita always made sure that my mom was home before she went off anywhere. She was watching over me. Everything was fine. I had a healthy son.
Over the years I have thought of her often. I am sorry that I lost contact.
We offer our condolences to the family.
