Obituary for Florence W. Birdsall (Olshesky)

Florence W.  Birdsall (Olshesky)
Florence W. Birdsall, age 92, of Beacon Falls and formerly of Milford, beloved wife of the late Daniel Birdsall, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her home.

She was born on May 4, 1918 in Granby to the late Joseph and Helen (Klonis) Olshesky. She was known as “Nanny” to all who knew her. Mrs. Birdsall was a licensed hairdresser. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church in Beacon Falls and a former member of the Ladies Guild at St. Ann’s Church in Milford.

Mrs. Birdsall is survived by two devoted children, Daniel Birdsall, III of East Haddam and Dianne Laput and her husband Tom of Beacon Falls, two grandchildren, Adam Laput and his wife Marcia of Beacon Falls and Todd Laput and his wife Jenni of Boulder, CO and five great grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Jonas, Kiera and Sofia Laput. She also leaves her brother, John Olshesky and his wife Sophia of Colchester and Helen Moriarty of East Hartford. Her four brothers and one sister predeceased her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 9:15 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, Beacon Falls. Family and Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford. Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
