OXFORD, CT: James S. Ploss, Sr., 66 of Governor’s Hill Road, entered into peaceful rest at his home on July 3, 2003, he was the beloved husband of Justine (Perun) Ploss. Mr. Ploss was born May 15, 1937 in Hunter, NY, son of the late Wesley and Doris (Vroman) Ploss. He was an Oxford resident for forty one years, and was an electrical contractor and master electrician, and owner for forty three years of the Ploss Electric Company; he graduated from the Bullard Havens Technical School, Bridgeport. Mr. Ploss was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour, and was a member and Forth Degree Knight of the Aurora Council Knights of Columbus, Seymour.
Besides hi wife James leaves his loving family including a son James S. Ploss, Jr. Of Oxford, and a daughter, Janice Smith and her husband Mark of Woodbury, a brother, Cyrus Ploss, and a sister Maureen Sullivan both of Seymour, also his granddaughter Margaret Mary Smith of Woodbury.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour to the Church of the Good Shepherd where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Derby.
