Obituary for Richard Blankshain, Blankshain, Sr.

SEYMOUR, CT: Richard Blankshain, Sr. age 65 of Washington Avenue, entered into peaceful rest January 2, 2004 at his home. Mr. Blankshain was born December 30, 1939 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Roy and Anita (Hergenroeder) Blankshain. He was a retired machinist from Latex Foam in Ansonia. Richard served in the U.S. Navy, and became a Naval Engineer there; he was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion, Oxford. Mr. Blankshain was a member of the Concordia Singing Society, the Dairylea Association of Dairy Farmers, and he was also involved with the Jaycees. Richard resided in Seymour for the past five years, formerly of Oxford, and also Pulaski, NY.
He leaves his children, Roy Blankshain of Torrance, CA, William Blankshain in CA, Donald Blankshain in CA, Richard Blankshain, Jr. of Pulaski, NY, David Aldino of Virginia Beach, VA, Cheryl Blankshain in CA, Susan Blankshain in CA, DeEdra Blankshain of Pulaski, NY, Heidi and Helen Blankshain both of Rocky Mount, NC, a step-daughter, MaryLouise Kinney of Parish, NY, two brothers, Robert Blankshain of Brandon, FL, and James Blankshain of Oxford, two sisters, Carol Gliford of Naugatuck, and Linda Dinallo of Sierra Vista, AZ, many grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service in celebration of Richard’s life will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
