I was not prepared to hear this news today and all through the day (and for days to come) it has been at the edges of my thoughts and given me deep sadness for you, his family, that he treasured so deeply. What pride and cheer he always had when he spoke to me of his daughters! It is with regret that I recall how long it has been since Roger and I "caught up"; he listened and was interested - such a rare quality in the busy workplace. The last time we talked he was very positive about his future and thankful for each and every day with his family. That attitude plus his big sincere smile is how I'll always remember him. His quick wit made him such a pleasure to be around and work with, he will be so missed. I recently lost my father to an ugly battle with cancer, you have my deepest empathy for the bravery and strength this required of you and my sincerest hopes that Peace can now fill your hearts.
